Start thinking of pest control as an investment, Trap today - Save your money

We know what we should be doing when it comes to pest control but we also know its hard to find the motivation to keep at - it we love our native wildlife but lets not forget there are selfish benefits to putting in the mahi

Those benefits? Saving your Money!

Electrical wiring repairs: $200 - $1500+ depending on if electrician needs to do a simple patch on a chewed section or a complete rewire.

Plumping (PEX or PVC pipes): $150 - $800 cutting and replacing damaged pipes usually with the added cost of an emergency call out.

Insulation Replacement (and clean out): $1000 - $3500+ contaminated and soiled insulation - yuck.

Appliance repairs: Anywhere from $200 to well over $4500 the final bill depends heavily on the severity and where the damage is - whether the machine can be safely rewired, parts can be replaced and the complexity of installation.

Repairs on entry points (gib or pipe work): $200 - $600 Minor work to repair and close entry points to your home.

Insurance? .... check the specific wording of your house and content policies but generally damage caused by pests, insects and rodents is excluded from your cover and the repair and replacement costs fall to you.

Flooding and electrical damage, culprit ...rats! pictured a dead rat found in one our trappers heat pumps during the cleanup of the damage done

What are Pests doing in the month of August?

  • Take advantage of the cold weather, best time of year to use fresh meat baits in your traps

  • Possum breeding begins again, take advantage of the promiscuity and social activity and throw them a party (Give your birdlife a boost and create a possum nightclub - Predator Free NZ Trust)

  • Good time to begin rabbit control - better rabbit control during this time of year does play a part in hindering mustelid breeding success later on

  • Keep up with the Rodent control efforts, Pulse baiting, continued trapping all makes a difference for the upcoming bird breeding season
