June Update - Why rat numbers increase?

Why are there so many Rodents in Autumn/Winter months?
it's cold, natural food sources are minimal so why do we have population growths in a time when everything else is struggling for survival?
In the simplest of terms....A big factor is urbanization. Rodents have proved their resilience and ability to adapt and exploit different environments, Our warm homes, gardens, compost, rubbish, Chicken coops, sheds even our vehicles give rodents a warm safe nest with food close at hand, its urbanization that removes the natural limits and risks associated with seasonal foraging that most other species face allowing the rodents to focus energy on continued breeding in the cold months.
What are Pests doing in the month of June?
Rodent populations still increasing exponentially during June, moving indoors to get out of the cold and exploit the food sources in our homes and chicken coops. Keep up with pulse baiting and trapping around houses and structures.
Mid-June Possums start targeting crops as their winter feed source, Keep an eye on your gardens and move traps to food source areas
